Sorry For Being MIA

I was thinking of making all of my blog titles some version of "Erica Lim Is A Godsend," but then I realized that if her co-workers at her WORK PALACE (did i spell place wrong on purpose?) google her, my blog might come up, and people might think I am obsessed with her, and that would not be good. Sorry, Lim.

(Sidenote - I never know which letters to capitalize in a title. Take, for example, the title of this post. Should "for" be capitalized? Or the last blog title - I feel like "a" should not capitalized, not sure about "is." So I capitalize every letter to be safe. Does anybody know the rules? And when is "the" capitalized? Please comment with your insight and do not try to take advantage of the fact that I am at times gullible because I will find out the truth!)

I apologize for being such a lazy bum with regards to updating this thing. I've realized that once I am no longer bored and have something to occupy my time, the blog becomes one of my lower priorities. Luckily, I have some spare time between facebooking and baltimore-ravens-touchdown-watching to update!!!

My break has been so fantastic - a lot of sleep, reading, MAINE!!!!!!, and a splash of med school prep thrown in. We recently finished our basement, and we have a new home theater so I've been watching a ton of movies that I borrow from the library. Akeelah and the Bee is probably one of the best movies I've seen all year. It was the only movie in the past three years that my mom watched the whole way through without sleeping. For all of you who know my mom, you know that this is a big deal. She fell asleep when we watched Avatar in theaters. Speaking of Avatar, what an amazing movie! I hope it gets a bunch of awards - much deserved, for sure.

I must say, however, that out of all the movies over break, the best one by far was The Blind Side. Everybody, EVERYBODY, needs to see it. I saw it just yesterday while I was with my beautiful rooms in Maine (one of the best visits of my life!). I started crying five minutes into the movie and did not stop until after it was over. I haven't cried so much since A Walk To Remember and this movie wasn't even a tragedy. It was so moving and inspiring and motivational and funny and sad and happy and just so so so great. Sandra deserves that Oscar. I'm glad she's finally getting well-deserved recognition for her acting. I knew after Miss Congeniality that she was a star. STAR.

I'm really sleepy, so I'm going to read some articles about the hoyas beating uconn and the ravens beating the patriots before going to bedfordshire. I hope this post was long enough for you all.  =)

Erica Lim Is A Godsend

Received this lovely present in my inbox this morning from Lim:

Josh Groban has a Twitter and he's wearing glasses in his picture...

http://twitter.com/joshgroban

After 15 minutes (...or an hour, but really, amount of time spent is insignificant information) of stalking, I've decided that we are actually meant to be. To support my conclusion, see below:

New glasses from retrospecs! http://yfrog.com/0mm3qj
- Proud of his glasses.

Going to the market, and not for breakfast sushi. picking up some flowers for my long drive to take grandma out to lunch. :)
- He buys flowers for his grandmother and eats sushi for breakfast.

I hate you stationary bike! It burns! Take me somewhere for this pain dammit!
- He's funny.

berry berry inneresting. I'm bemused!
- I appreciate his word choices.

Came back from lunch and the ghost in my house had turned on Bridezillas. grrl you bettah keep the sheet off because if i find you iss ovah.
- He's gangsta. Like me.

If i had a nickel today for every "great, one more time but this time with mutes!"...I'd be 15 cents richer.
- HE'S REALLY FUNNY. And this is very representative of my orchestra years.

I could go on, but I won't. His wittiness just boggles my mind. Sorry for another post on Josh Groban, but I just couldn't resist.

Happy

I am extremely happy right now. Here are the reasons:

1. I just found out that it's going to (possibly) snow on Saturday. I love snow.
2. I learned that my "second midterm" for next Tuesday is actually a final. This means that I only have two take-home exams during finals week. I am rather spoiled. If I wanted to, I could go home after classes ended, but fear not, friends, I shall remain at Georgetown to enjoy Christmas season in DC.
3. IF (that's a big if) things work out, I would remain in DC for the next four years of my life and would be surrounded by a majority of my closest friends.
4. Parents are still open to the possibility of adopting/buying a new puppy!
5. I just ate a handful of dark chocolate covered pomegranates. Yum.
6. The "25 days till Christmas" countdown on ABC family has begun!
7. I have free time to read, watch FNL with my lover, and begin Lost.
8. PRINCESS AND THE FROG COMES OUT IN 10 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very happy!

Thanksgiving

A short post, as I am eager to go back to my reading: I hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving, filled with love, joy, and pumpkin pie. I have so much to be thankful for this year that even attempting to list them would be sheer folly. Happy Thanksgiving, lovely friends!

I leave you all with this amazing gif. Very thankful for our president.

ps. SQB, I hereby appoint you president of the TZ fanclub, NC branch. Thank you for the AMAZING link. Dan, I shall call you 'Q' from now on.

Gorman.

Dearest Gorman,

I forgive you. How could I not? How could I possibly hold a grudge against the guy who is so desperately in love with Julie that only Josh Groban can adequately portray the emotions coursing through his veins? I should have realized early on that you were Josh Groban; unfortunately, I had temporarily forgotten the night when you performed an interpretive dance with scarves to "You Raise Me Up."

Yes readers, Daniel Gorman (not Q) Bliss danced his little lovestruck heart out in our living room with scarves to Josh Groban, trying to demonstrate his passion for my roommate. Was it masculine? Hm. Was it graceful? Erm. But it was genuine. He was in love, and what better way to display that feeling than through an intense outpouring of exuberant emotion accompanied by the flowing lyricism of dance and the sweet, sweet melodies of Josh Groban?

Thus, I naturally cannot find you guilty for wanting to be Josh Groban. One part of your adequately sincere response really struck me:
"Josh was in the south of France when he wrote "Remember When It Rained." I, for one, bore witness to a terribly blustery storm in Marseille in February of this year. A lone traveler I was then, far from country and compatriots: my toothbrush my companion, my sweater my home. Did it evoke in me the same melancholy of Mr. Groban's experience? I do say that it did."
It must have been so difficult for you to be so far away from your love. Julie was not only your toothbrush, she was also your sweater. As a hopeless romantic, I can only sigh with admiration at how strong you are; it is truly a testament to your undying devotion to her that you survived until she was back in your arms.

I hope I have not embarrassed you by sharing to my readers and the cyber world your affection for my roommate or your tendency to burst out into interpretive dance. I surely did not do so on purpose to counteract the torture you put me through for two whole days. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving - you sure have a lot to be thankful for. In fact, I think it would be appropriate for you to illustrate your gratefulness to Julie through song. A Josh Groban song, perhaps? I'm sure she and your extended family would very much enjoy that on Thanksgiving.

Sincerely yours,
Tina

Re: Josh Groban

Dear Joshua Q. Groban,

Thank you for responding to my blog post. For a brief 2.2 seconds, I thought that you were indeed Josh Groban and my heart was bursting with excitement. Alas, I realized soon enough that you were merely an imposter, as Josh is unaware of my proclivity to read Robert Jordan and medical textbooks until the wee hours of the morning. Furthermore, Josh would know that his middle name was Winslow, not Q.

I ask the fake Josh Groban to please stand up. I can no longer sleep at night because of you; the mystery of Josh Groban continuously haunts me. I stay awake analyzing the 10 or so people who know about my blog, trying to match them up with your writing style, your knowledge of my personal interests, and your attraction to turtles. Is it possible that I have already interrogated you and you lied to me? Or have I not suspected you yet?

Either way, I would greatly appreciate a response. In my last post, I said, "Josh, if you're reading this, call me." I would like to add a "fake" to the beginning of that sentence. I'll even throw in a "please." I will be anxiously awaiting your call.

Love,
Tina

ps. I would just like to add another favorite josh groban video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1Ggn8OmGG4

Josh Groban

Today, I did homework because I had homework to do. For two hours, I felt great. Afterwards, I went on a nice leisurely jog while listening to Christmas music (YAY CHRISTMAS!). Specifically Josh Groban's Noel. Which brings me to the topic of this post: Josh Groban.

I love him. To be honest, I forgot about how much I loved Josh Groban until Jen (hi Jen!) posted this video on my facebook, and I basically fell in love all over again. Not only does he have the voice of an angel, he is also extremely funny and has lovely hair. And as K-Dawg mentioned after I showed her the video, he looks very dorky. I thought to myself, Oh my god, if he wears glasses, I will literally die. So I googled "josh groban glasses" and guess what? HE WEARS GLASSES! I died. See picture:

Everybody should be proud of me - I have transitioned from fictional characters to real people. Josh, if you're reading this, call me. Insert winking and batting of eyelashes.
