Thanksgiving

A short post, as I am eager to go back to my reading: I hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving, filled with love, joy, and pumpkin pie. I have so much to be thankful for this year that even attempting to list them would be sheer folly. Happy Thanksgiving, lovely friends!

I leave you all with this amazing gif. Very thankful for our president.

ps. SQB, I hereby appoint you president of the TZ fanclub, NC branch. Thank you for the AMAZING link. Dan, I shall call you 'Q' from now on.

Gorman.

Dearest Gorman,

I forgive you. How could I not? How could I possibly hold a grudge against the guy who is so desperately in love with Julie that only Josh Groban can adequately portray the emotions coursing through his veins? I should have realized early on that you were Josh Groban; unfortunately, I had temporarily forgotten the night when you performed an interpretive dance with scarves to "You Raise Me Up."

Yes readers, Daniel Gorman (not Q) Bliss danced his little lovestruck heart out in our living room with scarves to Josh Groban, trying to demonstrate his passion for my roommate. Was it masculine? Hm. Was it graceful? Erm. But it was genuine. He was in love, and what better way to display that feeling than through an intense outpouring of exuberant emotion accompanied by the flowing lyricism of dance and the sweet, sweet melodies of Josh Groban?

Thus, I naturally cannot find you guilty for wanting to be Josh Groban. One part of your adequately sincere response really struck me:
"Josh was in the south of France when he wrote "Remember When It Rained." I, for one, bore witness to a terribly blustery storm in Marseille in February of this year. A lone traveler I was then, far from country and compatriots: my toothbrush my companion, my sweater my home. Did it evoke in me the same melancholy of Mr. Groban's experience? I do say that it did."
It must have been so difficult for you to be so far away from your love. Julie was not only your toothbrush, she was also your sweater. As a hopeless romantic, I can only sigh with admiration at how strong you are; it is truly a testament to your undying devotion to her that you survived until she was back in your arms.

I hope I have not embarrassed you by sharing to my readers and the cyber world your affection for my roommate or your tendency to burst out into interpretive dance. I surely did not do so on purpose to counteract the torture you put me through for two whole days. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving - you sure have a lot to be thankful for. In fact, I think it would be appropriate for you to illustrate your gratefulness to Julie through song. A Josh Groban song, perhaps? I'm sure she and your extended family would very much enjoy that on Thanksgiving.

Sincerely yours,
Tina

Re: Josh Groban

Dear Joshua Q. Groban,

Thank you for responding to my blog post. For a brief 2.2 seconds, I thought that you were indeed Josh Groban and my heart was bursting with excitement. Alas, I realized soon enough that you were merely an imposter, as Josh is unaware of my proclivity to read Robert Jordan and medical textbooks until the wee hours of the morning. Furthermore, Josh would know that his middle name was Winslow, not Q.

I ask the fake Josh Groban to please stand up. I can no longer sleep at night because of you; the mystery of Josh Groban continuously haunts me. I stay awake analyzing the 10 or so people who know about my blog, trying to match them up with your writing style, your knowledge of my personal interests, and your attraction to turtles. Is it possible that I have already interrogated you and you lied to me? Or have I not suspected you yet?

Either way, I would greatly appreciate a response. In my last post, I said, "Josh, if you're reading this, call me." I would like to add a "fake" to the beginning of that sentence. I'll even throw in a "please." I will be anxiously awaiting your call.

Love,
Tina

ps. I would just like to add another favorite josh groban video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1Ggn8OmGG4

Josh Groban

Today, I did homework because I had homework to do. For two hours, I felt great. Afterwards, I went on a nice leisurely jog while listening to Christmas music (YAY CHRISTMAS!). Specifically Josh Groban's Noel. Which brings me to the topic of this post: Josh Groban.

I love him. To be honest, I forgot about how much I loved Josh Groban until Jen (hi Jen!) posted this video on my facebook, and I basically fell in love all over again. Not only does he have the voice of an angel, he is also extremely funny and has lovely hair. And as K-Dawg mentioned after I showed her the video, he looks very dorky. I thought to myself, Oh my god, if he wears glasses, I will literally die. So I googled "josh groban glasses" and guess what? HE WEARS GLASSES! I died. See picture:

Everybody should be proud of me - I have transitioned from fictional characters to real people. Josh, if you're reading this, call me. Insert winking and batting of eyelashes.

WELCOME!

Hi friends!

Welcome to the first post of my new blog. I've had so much free time this past semester (not that I'm complaining) that I've decided to start a blog. I would like to acknowledge my lovely roomies (hi girls!) for coming up with this splendid idea. Why didn't I think of starting a blog earlier? Hopefully, this will be an entertaining stop on your daily internet prowl. I am going to dedicate my first post to answering the question everybody has been asking me: what have you been doing with your time since finishing grad school applications? In response, I say: excellent question! I will answer in list format, because it is organized and easy to read and comprehend.

What Tina Zhang has been doing for the past weeks (in sequential order and in third person à la Dennis Quaid):
1. Rejoicing that she has finished all applications!
2. Catching up on all the Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice/Glee/House episodes that she missed while working on applications.
3. Watching youtube videos of babies, animals, Ellen, Whose Line Is It Anyway, and Cristina+Owen.
4. Freaking out about the future.
5. Sleeping.
6. Reading her new favorite epic fantasy series, the Wheel of Time. Forever grateful to Emily Davis.
7. Contemplating whether or not she should take up knitting/crocheting to occupy her time.
8. Reading her daily reading assignments from Erica Lim (thanks Lim!)
9. Freaking out about the future.
10. Changing her desktop to a Christmas collage and listening to Christmas music.
11. Starting a new blog.
12. She was going to end at 11, but she like even numbers.

Last thing: I hope everybody knows where the title of the blog comes from. I also hope everybody notices that the template looks very harry-potter-y.
